Numerous Pool Party Games For Kids That Can Be Used In The Backyard

A lot of parties happen over the summer time. People will allow their children to invite other youngsters over to the house to have a good time playing in the swimming pool in the backyard. The youngsters love to play in the water and will often look for other things to do besides simply swimming around. Many want something else they will make the day even better. An option for parents is to help them organize an activity that allows them to compete against each other. There are plenty of pool party games for kids that one can choose to initiate. What follows are some of the favorites that have been played over the years.

One activity that has been for seemingly forever is called "Marco Polo". This is when one of the players has to wear some type of blindfold, unless they can be trusted to keep their eyes totally closed, and calls out the name "Marco" as they make their way around the water. Other players are suppose to respond by saying "Polo". This allows the blind folded person to determine where the other players are. When they end up touching one of the other children, then that child has to put on the blind fold and start looking for the others.

The children can compete against each other in a long jump contest. Someone has to be in charge of a floating device in the water. The contestants can either run off of a diving board or deck and jump over the floating device. The device keeps on getting moved further away until only one person can jump over it and win the contest.

Some people like to play "Crossing the River". This works by placing two ropes on opposite sides of the pool. Children should climb onto a floating device that is not very stable. They then try to pull themselves to the other side without falling off the floating object.

"Treasure Hunt" tests one's ability to hold their breath while looking for objects under the water. Someone throws items that will sink to the bottom. Each child takes a breath and dives in to get as many of the items as they can. The one who retrieves the most items wins the game.

If one has a deck surrounding the pool, then they can play "Tug O'War". Two teams get on either side of the pull. The team that pulls the other team into the water is the winner.

"Noodle Joust is another game that many children really like to compete each other in. One will want to get a couple of Nerf noodles that are soft and will not hurt when people hit each other with them. The one who can knock the other off of a floating raft is the winner.

Children can have a lot of fun when playing pool party games for kids. There are many activities that they can choose from to fill up their day. Hours of fun can be had in the safety of the backyard.
