How to Lose Weight While Being Pregnant

You have recently discovered that you are pregnant. This is great news and you are so overjoyed. Your only issue is that you have been trying to lose weight and was hopefully going to be down more pounds before you became pregnant.

So what can you do now? How to lose weight while pregnant?
First you want to approach the dieting scenario with a sensible approach. Make sure that you get into healthy habits that you can maintain, not just for a few months but for a lifetime.
For example if you weigh 150 pounds you are burning about 1800 calories a day in a resting state. Now let's say that you burn another 200 calories through exercise, housework, walking up and downstairs, taking the dog for a walk. So your daily total of calories burned is 2000.
Now if you consume more than 2000 calories, even just 2050, those extra 50 calories add up to 1 pound every 70 days, or 5 pounds a year.

So to avoid this weight gain you want to consume less than 2000 calories per day. Now you don't want to restrict your calorie intake too much, especially being pregnant. So if you just cut back to 1500 calories a day you will still lose weight. If you eat more you want to up the exercise to counter balance the calorie intake.

By reducing your calorie intake by cutting out junk food and candy and replacing them with fruit and nuts you can easily lose weight. Swap whole milk for skim milk, replace fizzy drinks with water, by eating smaller portions and by packing healthy snacks for work you can easily reduce your daily calories without ever feeling that you are on a diet.

If you go to the other extreme and consume only 1000 calories a day, which is not healthy especially while pregnant. The minute you up your calorie intake you will inevitably start to put the pounds back on. So it really is vitally important to view your weight loss journey as a healthy lifestyle change instead of a diet.
Remember that there are no short cuts or magic diet pills, any quick results will be temporary and the weight will come back within weeks of finishing the diet plan.

Especially being pregnant you want to eat healthy foods for your baby and yourself allowing for a successfully delivery and recovery.
