Why Does Lifting Weights Burn Fat So Fast?
Proper weight training with a well-balanced calorie deficit nutrition plan is the fastest way to lose weight immediately. The more muscle we have the more calories our bodies need to burn throughout the day to keep up that new figure. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for fat as that is actually our bodies storing extra calories for a rainy day. So this is why it is great to start working out today! You will start to build muscle, need to burn more calories and your body will say "Hey I have some right here".
Weight training at least 3 times a week will be highly beneficial to you, not only to lose weight but to live a healthy life. By nature we are not designed to be fat, we are designed to constantly move and using our bodies throughout the day. Since we are all very busy it is real easy to burn fat and gain muscle by doing a quick weight training workout from home or the gym. Believe it or not you can lose weight, build muscle and look great with only working out between 35-45 minutes a day max.
You Don't Have to Be a Body Builder to Have Muscle
If you were thinking "I don't really want to bulk up" that is 100% fine as you don't have too. Remember earlier when I said that a well-balanced calorie deficit diet and working out are key? That is exactly it; you will never build too much muscle if you are not eating a ton of extra calories. By finding your BMR and basing your caloric intake from there you can find success.
Here's how to find your Basal Metabolic Rate or you can just type BMR calculator in Google.
English BMR Formula
Women: BMR = 655 + ( 4.35 x weight in pounds ) + ( 4.7 x height in inches ) - ( 4.7 x age in years )
Men: BMR = 66 + ( 6.23 x weight in pounds ) + ( 12.7 x height in inches ) - ( 6.8 x age in year )
Once you have your BMR you can find out how many calories you need each day by following this formula.
Harris Benedict Formula
If you are sedentary (little or no exercise): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
If you are moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9
So lets say my BMR was 2000 and I was sedentary I would come up with a total caloric intake of 2400. Now you may think that this is too much but it's not if you like the weight you are at. If not you can take your total caloric intake and subtract 500. Why 500? Because scientists estimate that it takes around 3500 calories to burn 1 pound of fat, there's 7 days in a week so 500 x 7 = 3500.
With this knowledge you will be able to lose 1 pound a week without exercise. Of course though to lose huge amounts of fat in a short amount of time you will need a good workout regimen.
Will This Work For You?
Absolutely! With this knowledge that you have gained in this article you now know that by decreasing your caloric intake by just 500 along with gaining lean muscle you'll be able to drop weight very quickly. Remember to read my resource box below for more information on how to lose weight fast.
