Kettlebells & Their Usefulness for the Avengers

By Rob Sutter

If there is any group of men and women that could proclaim that they are the strongest of the strong, I'd have to say it's the Avengers. This compilation of superheroes is indisputably strong as an unit and even when they are apart, it's clear that they can hold their own, no matter what the state of affairs may be. They are all ready for the task at hand and they can fight well to ensure the protection of the world. Who's to say that kettlebells couldn't help in this scenario?

It's not like these weights would be used to necessarily hone their bodies, which is the goal of reputable fitness authorities like Lorna. I understand that kettlebells are versatile weights and can work out the body in many areas but that isn't going to be the case with the Avengers. Aside from Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Black Widow, these superheroes don't seem to have arsenals of weapons to call their own. I can only imagine how they would make use of these rather unique weights.

The Hulk would be able to make use of his strength in order to work with these weights and I don't think anyone can deny it. These weights are partially based around the idea of strength and anyone who is aware of the Hulk understands his great amount of power. He would be able to wield the weight and swing it like a hammer, not unlike Thor. It would also prove to be a tool that the Hulk can use without it disintegrating in his grasp.

Captain America is another name to consider, especially when you think about how he can chuck his shield before allowing it to return to his hand. It functions like a boomerang, which is how I can see this particular weight working as well. I would even argue that it would have more of an outcome since the weight itself seems to have more power to it. Along with upgrading the throw of Steve Rogers, it would prove to be beneficial on the field of battle.

What about someone like Iron Man, whose interest seems to be more on enhancing technology than actual combat? I believe that Tony Stark could develop the suit far more, which isn't farfetched when you take into account that the suit has had a large number of iterations during the course of the "Iron Man" film series. In addition, Stark is an intelligent person and I don't think that he'd run out of uses for the weights. If anything, he would prove his intellect by innovating with them.
