Why People Need To Be Wary Of Products That Claim To Remove Fluoride From Water

By Quin McDarling

Removing certain chemical particles from water has its advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, people need to be cautious when they use products that claim to remove fluoride from water. Fluoride is a chemical that is present in H2O and can be damaging for the health. Tooth decay is most commonly linked with exposure to fluoride. Experts believe that H2O fluoridation may lead to health risks due to certain factors.

The treatment of fluoride from H2O can be sometimes seen as worse than the actual disease it can cause. There are basically four methods used to remove this chemical aspect from H2O Treatment with aluminium based media is said to be able to remove about ninety eight percent of fluoride but the problem is about being equally very slow and this poses serious health risks to the consumers.

Reverse osmosis is another method used for removing almost all contaminants from H2O. Distillation also works effectively in purification of H2O. However, the problem with these is that these are very slow processes making is difficult to sustain for large quantities of water for home consumption. Granular Activated Carbon and KDF is one of the effective products used for removing certain chemicals from H2O, however, there has been an inconsistency in its performance.

As such, people need to be wary of suppliers of products that claim to remove fluoride with carbon filter only. The removal process is wholly dependent on the period it usually spends while in contact with the media used. For higher H20 flow rates, none is removed at all and the other important aspect that is not given due consideration is the nature of water itself. Volcanic soils often contain high PH concentration than other natural H20 supplies.

There are many benefits and drawbacks of removing fluoride from water. Treating the water with aluminium media is a commonly used method, but is very slow and can be quite risky. On the other hand, reverse osmosis is also a very slow process but more effective.

The distillation method, though effective, costs a lot especially when used for small quantities of H2O used for domestic consumption. Granular Activated Carbon and KDF is not something one can completely rely upon because of its inconsistency. The trusted kiwipure limited also provides no guarantee that it can remove all fluoride from H2O in an effective manner. It is important, therefore, for people to be wary of such companies that claim to be capable of facing such challenges.

One of the most effective methods used for removing chemicals from H2O is the water filter Wellington. However, it also comes with its side effects and causes harm to health of individuals. The most reliable method has not been discovered as yet but some methods are more effective than others.

On the other hand, fluoridation can be achieved through adding chemical compounds detailed below to H20. Sodium fluoride can be handled easily but the main problem is that it is expensive for domestic purposes. Fluorosilicate acid is not expensive in terms of its actual price but the main problem is that it can be expensive to ship since it is in liquid form. Sodium fluorosilicate is cheaper to ship compared to the other chemicals. Since there are various claims suggesting the effectiveness of these methods in fluoridation, they cannot be wholly trusted since they have their own pros and cons.

Even though there are numerous methods that can be used for fluoridation of H2O, there are health risks associated with their use. This is why it is essential that people use such products with care that claim to remove fluoride from water.
